Education & Medical Training
Dr. Griffin earned her Bachelor of Science with honors from Iowa State University in 1985 and her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 1991. She completed an Internal Medicine internship at Bethesda Naval Hospital in 1992, followed by a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, including an externship in Gastrointestinal Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. She became board certified in 1997.
Professional Experience
Dr. Griffin served as Medical Director of Branch Medical Clinic Staten Island and was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal before being honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander. She went on to serve as a staff pathologist in North Carolina and Texas, including 15 years at Tomball Regional Hospital and most recently with MLD Pathology in Houston. She joined Brown Pathology as a part-time pathologist in 2024.
